I use an individualized approach to assessment that is based on the referral questions presented by parents and educators. After interviewing parents and teachers, and the child as well as reviewing the child’s school records, I will begin an assessment process designed to yield meaningful results.
When the assessment process is completed, I will write a comprehensive report to review with parents. This report will include identification of processing strengths and weaknesses and how they impact learning. I will provide parents and educators an in-depth picture and understanding of the child’s barriers to learning, which will lead to research-based and meaningful interventions to support the child in learning.
With permission from parents, I will observe the child in school to provide the most accurate picture of the child’s learning strengths and weaknesses in multiple environments.
All assessment results are confidential and will be shared with other professionals only with parent permission.
I am also available to attend IEP meetings to review results with school staff. My vision is that every child with a unique learning profile and special needs has the opportunity and support to develop to their full potential.
Some adults go through life with undiagnosed learning disabilities. They struggle with work, organization and furthering their education. Learning is a lifelong endeavor and I seek to support adults as well as children who wish to learn more about their own strengths and challenges in the learning process.
I provide consultation and training in the following areas:
- Learning Disabilities
